Each Thursday, students at Brisbane Montessori School have a fantastic opportunity to take part in our exciting and free after school French Club!
A part of our term-time extracurricular program, the club is run by our very own French Teacher, Natacha, who herself hails from the South-West of France and has been teaching French since 2013.
“I am from South-West of France (a small town, one hour drive from Bordeaux) and completed my studies in Marseille, South of France. I have worked in Paris and Lyon before coming to Australia in 2009,” Natacha said.
“I have been teaching French since 2013 in different organisations such as childcare centres, and non-profit organisations such as “Les Petits Princes” and “L’Alliance Française” in Brisbane, before starting in Brisbane Montessori School in 2020.”
Natacha says French club is a fun and interesting way for students to extend their learning of the French language, while also feeling included fostering a sense of belonging.
“The French Club happens every Thursday after school in the library,” Natacha said.
“It runs for one hour and provides fun ways for kids to learn new French language skills and play,” she said.
“We learn French through a range of fun and playful activities such as games, songs, and books.”
Students do not have to be fluent in French to join the club, everybody no matter their language proficiency is welcome!
