The National Assessment Program – Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN), is a nation-wide assessment program for Australian students in Years 3, 5, 7 and 9 that takes place annually.
While comparative reporting and ranking student achievement against the performance of other classmates is not in keeping with Maria Montessori’s philosophy, Brisbane Montessori School believe in equal opportunity. Here at the school, we offer the opportunity for students to participate in NAPLAN testing at the discretion of parents and our students. Often, while not actively encouraged, our school has a healthy number of students participate in NAPLAN testing.
Our 2021 NAPLAN results yielded some excellent results from students, which saw areas such as reading, spelling, grammar, and mathematics exceeding the state and national average. You can see our 2021 NAPLAN results in the infographic below.
