Ana Hatherley
My husband Tony and I are parents to Alexander (Wondai and Moana alumni), Franco (Grevillia and Wondai alumni), Carlo (Melaleuca and Borobi alumni) and Matías (Lotus alumni and currently in Casuarina). We have been part of the BMS community since 2016 and are grateful for the nurturing environment the school has provided our boys over the years.
I am a passionate believer in the Montessori approach to education as an ‘aid to life’. As our children grow, we continue to witness the benefits that a Montessori education affords not only our children, but the communities of which they become part. As a board member, my aim is to advocate for all efforts that support the full, human development of our children and promote peace education.
My legal background allows me to contribute to policy and compliance matters, and to develop and deliver well-researched, practical and effective solutions to challenges faced by the school. Navigating legal problems has strengthened my ability to work with stakeholders in a way that enables parties to feel supported, understood and invested in the outcome achieved.
My accounting background supports my role as a director, particularly as the school has entered a new phase of planning, building and growth.
I am committed to offering any part of my professional skills and experiences that supports the school in its vision of providing an excellent education in a Montessori environment. It is a privilege to work alongside board members who share this same commitment, and I am confident that by continuing to work collaboratively, BMS will continue to inspire more families to seek a school that educates for peace and the betterment of the world.
